Here’s what you should know about Netflix’s Firefly Lane Season 2
Online platform Netflix released an American drama series Firefly Lane Season 1 which is a 10 episode long series. The show casts “Katherine Heigl” and “Sarah Chalke” as “Tully Hart and Kate Mularkey” and the storyline revolves around these two. Tully and Kate meet each other on Firefly Lane as young girls and become best of friends throughout 30 years of ups and downs. The series is based on the novel of the same name by author Kristin Hannah and the friendship of the 2 friends over 3 decades i.e. from 1974 to 2003.
It’s a very well-written love, family, and friendship drama with lots of twists and turns. The ending of the show leaves fans speculating what all season 2 holds in the bag for them. Therefore Firefly Lane Season 2 theories are a factual way to remind friends that the novel still holds a lot of pages that are still to be made into series. So even though fans have already almost guessed what their season 2 looks like, these are still just theories but let’s first see what these theories are:-
Johnny Ryan isn’t dead
Despite the twisted ending of season 1, fans aren’t very convinced that Johnny Ryan is actually dead. They also have a very good reason for their belief because he doesn’t die in the novel. But again what’s so say that the Netflix plot won’t deviate from the novel before because it has happened before – once when Ryan and Kate got divorced and secondly the whole “embedded reporter in Iraq” subplot aren’t in the novel. But killing one of the lead characters is a lot of deviation from the original plot and let’s hope ( pray) that it isn’t true.
Kate will crash as Tully’s Producer
Season 1 ends with this big declaration where Tully declares she’s recruiting Kate to be her producer and doesn’t even give it a minute’s thought to consequences. That kind of “over the top decision” is something that could actually end up turning into a disaster and could also affect their inseparable bond. But we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
Marah’s rebellion will increase ten – fold
One of the central characters in the series (and in the novel too) is Marah and her rebellious nature. Throughout the series, she almost always turns to Tully to be her confidante but this also infuriates Kate and she questions herself as a mother and also gets irritated with Tully for not keeping her distance.
Season 1 already showed how she ended up in need of ‘birth control pills’ and now that her father is also in Iraq, she might get worse.
Tully & Kate’s falling out will happen live
The most important change that the show made from the book is how Tully and Kate fall apart. In the novel, it’s a stupid and regretful decision by Jhonny to put the two of them together in a show and both of them have had enough, they say some seriously unforgivable things (on air), and that end up impeding Tully’s career.
But since Kate’s now Tully’s producer, the show is trying to find a different angle for this fall out.
Kate’s Illness will be season 2’s dilemma
Season 1’s intertwined timelines revealed two highlights – 1) whose funeral were they attending? And 2) reason behind Kate and Tully’s fallout?
Fans though are betting season 2 will pull a similar kind of stunt, with an even more heart-wrenching angle: Kate finding out she has an inoperable angle (which is also mentioned in the novel) and this would also bring back Tully in her life and their bond will revive and they’ll spend Kate’s remaining months together.
