Body of Magneto, Magneto is one of the most powerful X-Men. Whether he is a hero or villain, friend, or foe of the X-Men he is the Master of Magnetism. His magnetic body gives him immense powers.
Magneto, as the most complex antagonist in comics, was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1963’s X-Men #1. He has been a fixture of the Marvel Universe. His body is just as complicated as his morals. Let’s see how his body has kept him going for decades.
Magnetic Fields
Magneto is the Master of Magnetism. All of his powers whether defensive or offensive flows from his link to magnetic fields. He can use this field to fly at a very high speed.
His magnetic field can even face vacuum spaces, nuclear blasts, and powerhouses like Hercules and Ghost Rider. He did in the opening to Chris Claremont and Jim Lee’s X-Men #1. His mastery of magnetic fields extends far beyond his immediate surroundings too, as he’s been able to move asteroids and even a bullet.
Geo Magnetic Link
Magneto gets his powers from the very Earth’s electromagnetic force. This enables him to observe it and make changes to it. He has all sorts of sixth sense and is the human compass.
Even when he loses his powers he remains sensitive to the Earth’s magnetic field and can perceive the magnetic field.
Matter Manipulation
He has the ability to manipulate the smallest of particles with metallic objects and even humans. He removed the adamantium from Wolverine’s skeleton in Fabian Nicieza and Andy Kubert’s X-Men #25. On the other hand, Magneto pulled the iron out of a security guard’s blood to form tools for a prison escape in X2: X-Men United. Magneto also uses this manipulation to reinforce the fibers of his costume to give it adamantium-like sustainability.
Electro-Magnetism
Magneto has a link to the Earth’s magnetic field which gives him a wide variety of powers in the magnetic spectrum. He can make an electricity shield around him, create and absorb it. His powers are now much more pushed. He is resistant to telepathy. However, his helmet gives him the defense for it. Actually, he can also control the electric impulses of his brain.
Magneto was a Baby
Magneto’s history is famously tied to the real-world history of the 1930s and 1940s. Magneto is in incredibly good shape for his age as he was de-aged into a baby before being re-aged into the prime of his life. In Defenders #15-16, by Len Wein and Sal Buscema, Magneto and the rest of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants was de-aged into infancy.
The young Magneto was placed in the care of Moira MacTaggert, who tinkered with the young mutant’s genetic structure. Although Magneto still has his hint of white hair, this version of Magneto wasn’t restored to his fully original age. He still maintains some of that relative youthfulness to this day.
