End of The Walking Dead Will Follow More Spin-Off Shows

The end of The Walking Dead is near after having 11 seasons, AMC has announced.

The final season that will be the end of The Walking Dead will be featuring an extended run of around 24 episodes. It will begin at the start of autumn next year.

The tour series with the final season would mark the end of The Walking Dead. It will run until early 2022.

However, we are not sure if it will be split up into 3 runs of 8 episodes or if it will be broadcast in a single run.

The largely prosperous zombie cliff-hanger show began back in 2010 and shortly became a global success.

It has been the number one show on US cable many times. Also, it has spawned a number of spins offs.

The chief content officer of the show said about the end of The Walking Dead, “It’s been ten years gone bye [a reference to the first-ever episode ‘Days Gone Bye’].

“What lies ahead are two more to come and stories and stories to tell beyond that.”

“What’s clear is that this show has been about the living, made by a passionate cast, a team of writer/producers, producers, and crew, bringing to life the vision put forth by Robert Kirkman in his brilliant comic – and supported by the best fans in the world.”

“We have a lot of thrilling stories left to tell on TWD, and then, this end will be a beginning of more Walking Dead — brand new stories and characters, familiar faces and places, new voices, and new mythologies.”

“This will be a grand finale that will lead to new premieres. Evolution is upon us.”

“The Walking Dead lives.”

More Spin-Offs After End Of The Walking Dead

So what we got to understand is there will be a spin-off that will focus on Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon and Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier.

After the end of The Walking Dead, the spin-off show will be steered by Walking Dead producer Angela Kang.

Then there will be an anthology series that will feature the lives of different characters from the show itself.

Kang explained, “I look forward to digging in with our brilliant writers, producers, directors, cast, and crew to bring this epic final chapter of Robert Kirkman’s story to life for our fans over the next two years.”

“The Walking Dead flagship series has been my creative home for a decade and so it’s bittersweet to bring it to an end, but I could not be more excited to be working with Scott Gimple and AMC to develop a new series for Daryl and Carol.”

“Working with Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride has been a highlight of my career and I’m thrilled that we get to keep telling stories together.”
