This 2020 Emmy awards is dominated by none other than the loveable comedy show Schitt’s Creek

Schitt’s Creek has managed to win 4 major acting categories. This included Best Actor and Actress along with Best Supporting Actress and Actor.

The show won the coveted Best Comedy Series award at the 2020 Emmy Awards. The cast of the show was spellbound by the accomplishment.

Eugene Levy played the Rose family patriarch Johnny. He got his first Emmy in 37 years and Catherine O’Hara, who played Moira, won her initial ever acting award at the 2020 Emmy Awards.

The actor addressed everyone at the ceremony, and said, “I guess it’s kind of ironic that the straightest role I’ve ever played lands me an Emmy for a comedy performance. So now I seriously have to question just what I’ve been doing for the past 50 years.”

“And that brings me to my multi-Emmy nominated partner: Daniel Levy, who took our show that we came up with and brilliantly guided it to this little me party tonight. So thank you, son.”

Eugene’s son, Dan, who played Johnny’s on-screen son, David, and also assisted writing the show won Emmy for Best Writing in a Comedy Series. He expressed his surprise and amazement at the announcement.

Dan said, “I just want to say thank you to my dad for giving me the reins to this show. Even though I didn’t have any experience in a writer’s room, saying that out loud right now feels like a wild choice on your part, but I am very grateful for it.”

His on-screen sister Annie Murphy played the stunning and joyful Alexis, won Best Supporting Actress at the 2020 Emmy Awards, and was over the moon.

She said, “The six years that I have spent working on this show have been the best six years of my entire life”.

“And I am so, so proud of the cast and the crew and the writers, and I can’t believe that Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara are my friends. And I’m so proud to be a part of a show that stands for love and kindness and inclusivity and acceptance because those four things are things that we need more than ever right now.”

An official synopsis reads, “They are forced to rebuild their lives with their sole remaining asset: a small town named Schitt’s Creek, which they had bought for their son as a joke birthday gift back in 1991.”

“The Roses relocate to Schitt’s Creek, moving into two adjacent rooms in a run-down motel. As the family adjusts to their new lives, their well-to-do attitudes come into conflict with the more provincial residents of Schitt’s Creek, including mayor Roland Schitt (Chris Elliott), his wife Jocelyn (Jenn Robertson), and the motel’s manager, Stevie Budd (Emily Hampshire).”

The 6th and final season debuted on Netflix this year. And thereafter, everyone involved with the show bid farewell to the show.
