While the forthcoming project doesn’t even have a name yet, Cruise has been in conversations with Musk’s SpaceX program, as well as NASA, to act and work towards this new objective of the first movie shot in space. Although this declaration was met with excitement for its groundbreaking nature, there’s been limited word on the project’s growth until now.

Space Shuttle Almanac’s official Twitter, which encloses all space-related news, has verified that Cruise’s mission has been greenlighted by all involved groups. The tweet brings out that Commander Michael Lopez-Alegria, who holds two NASA spacewalk titles, will pilot the Axiom Space Station on a traveler mission in October 2021. When Axiom sets off for outer space, both Cruise and director Doug Liman will be accompanying him. And the tweet cleared the doubts and it is sure that Tom Cruise Will Visit Outer Space.

Space Shuttle Almanac’s tweet is supported with an image indicating the International Space Station’s manifest for the next 3 years. More specifically, October 2021 is captioned with “Space X Crew Dragon Axiom Tourist Flight,” with Lopez-Algeria, Cruise, and Liman verified to all be on board. In addition, the manifest indicates that one seat on the tourist flight stays to be filled; while it’s ambiguous who will be taking that seat, the spot may be stocked for another producer or cameraman, in order to assure that filming goes smoothly. Now it is officially announced that Tom Cruise Will Visit Outer Space with Lopez-Algeria and Liman.

Although there are still many more questions to be answered about Cruise’s project, which proceeds to remain anonymous. It seems the chunks are slowly reaching together.
