Batman: Christian Bale’s one mistake Pushed Dark Knight Toward Death Door

Batman: Gotham Nights #19 proves that a glitch in Christian Bale’s vision has gone superly wrong and helped Dark Knight to get killed.

In The Dark Knight by Christopher Nolan, Christian Bale as the face of Bruce Wayne didn’t fare well with a vast array of copycat Batmen running around Gotham. Now he not only has to take down the various guns on him, he now had to take care of various newly motivated vigilantes in the city, which once let him get killed by some big villains while a big drug bust.

Unfortunately, this harmed him a lot as he was badly wounded and he has to sacrifice some highly technical protective heavy parts of his armor for maneuverability in the encounter. Now we saw this attitude of his pushing the dark vigilante to the death door in Batman: Gotham Nights #19.

Dark Knight Went To Lucius Fox

As Gotham was swarmed by some thugs of Joker and a gang war broke out, Bale’s Dark Knight went to Lucius Fox, he wanted lighter, faster and a more dynamic suit worked best for him to encounter the situation. When Bale asked Lucius how his new suit will be able to take down the big dogs, to which Lucius replied the suit will do well against the cat, which was a hint that it’d be penetrated in its light state. Now when Bruce stepped into the suit he felt he will be able to take more hits from Joker as the clown used anything from a metal pipe to a big gun to kill the Dark Knight.

In this run, Bruce adopted some similar kind of mentality while he goes after Mr. Phosphorus and sacrificed some heavy parts. Alfred asks about the Bat wearing the mech-suit as his under-liner has a limit as to the amount of radiation it could take but Bruce downplays it. Alfred’s vision was right as Phosphorus is a living radioactive nuclear plant just waiting to get meltdown but Bruce insists that he wants his armor to be lighter as he needs to be faster to encounter the villain, which came out as a dumb decision as everyone knows how Phosphorus killed Bruce by giving him cancer.

If Bruce had stepped into that highly technical and strong armor the idea of an exposed and vulnerable Dark Knight may not have crawled into Phosphorus’s mind, and he wouldn’t be able to execute his sadistic plan. After all, he’s someone who’s always been about revenge. Created in Detective Comics #469 by Steve Englehart and Walt Simonson, Alexander Sartorius was a doctor who got infected and turned into this radioactive killer after a nuclear power plant accident and then felt like poisoning Gotham’s water supply was the next best move.
