Ultimate Wolverine and Cyclop’s passion for Jean Grey got to the level where Wolverine chose Jean Grey and left Cyclops dying in the savage land.
The rivalry going on between Wolverine and Cyclops is partially due to the chasing personality they both had but the main reason behind their rivalry is due to their mutual affection for Jean Grey. But in the latest issue, the rivalry between them is at peace, but no one knows when it can get worse. In the Ultimate Universe, the race love made Wolverine chose Jean Grey and left Scott Summer in the savage land to wait for his death to come.
Wolverine Chose Jean Grey, Overseen By Charles Xavier
In the Ultimate Marvel Dimension, a separate universe is built to introduce the classic Marvel characters to the modern-day audience. This new issue interpreted the famous mutant superheroes saw a group of teenage X-Men joined by the mysterious (and older) Wolverine, overseen by Professor Charles Xavier. Everybody was able to Scott’s affection for Jean Grey but his inability to act on it gave Wolverine a chance to try his luck, that becomes the reason why Scott left X-Men and shook hands with Magneto.
Fortunately when Logan’s truth came out to his team along with their defeat of Magneto, broke Jean’s heart and gave her a reason to end all her things with Logan. Eventually after this event, Scott and Jean officially started dating.
Ultimate X-Men by writer Mark Millar and Adam Kubert continues to escalate the rivalry between Logan and Scott. In ‘Hellfire and Brimstone’ Scott was not able to take Logan’s taunt and ended up blasting him, triggering Wolverine to show his bad side that was only stopped by Professor Xavier. For what they did and the damage they caused to school made Charles give them a good punishment, he selected both of them for a mission on savage land in a hope that working together can solve their issues.
During the dangerous mission, Cyclops suffers a bad fall due to an unforeseen accident. Hanging from a ledge, Wolverine goes to reach down and pull him up while Scott just has to point out the irony of the moment. Wolverine chose to take the bad side and let Scott go in the hand of his death as he realized this Is the only chance to eliminate his competition. Here Wolverine chose Jean Grey over his good man side. Wolverine tells this heartbreaking news to X-Men that Scott has died as he attempts to comfort heartbroken Jean Grey and tries to take a place in her heart.
Millar, Kubert, and David Finch’s Return of the King reveals that Cyclops still has some breadth left. His broken body is laying somewhere in the Savage Land. While restoring the strength Scott realizes his mistake that he made to understand Wolverine. His attempts were somewhere distracted by the fact that Wolverine chose Jean Grey and now they both are living together. Scott was rejuvenated and healed by the technology on Magneto’s Asteroid M and Cyclops revealed himself, and what happened, to the X-Men during their fight with Magneto. Naturally, the truth shocked everyone including Jean Grey especially when Wolverine admitted that it was all true.
