Xbox Series X And S To Face Shortage Till Long

Xbox series X and S are facing a shortage in their supplies. The same is expected to last till the first quarter of 2021.

After the launch of the consoles of Xbox Series X and S that saw its units selling out quickly, Microsoft CFO Tim Stuart has confirmed that the shortage will follow for a long. The same will last for months. He has confirmed this while speaking at Jefferies Interactive Entertainment Virtual Conference. He also admitted that Microsoft’s incapacity to meet needs at launch and throughout the vacation season was not completely unexpected.

“For Q2 [Microsoft’s quarters are different from calendar quarters], we gave guidance at our last earnings call of a zone that we’ll be in. And we’ll, frankly, be within that zone because we know the supply profile that we’re having,” Stuart said. “I think we’ll continue to see supply shortages as we head into the post-holiday quarter, so Microsoft’s Q3, calendar Q1.”

Xbox Series X and S Break Records

Stuart went on to say that he thinks Microsoft will be able to begin meeting the elevated demand for the consoles of Xbox Series X and S after the first quarter of 2021. “And then when we get to Q4 [April-June 2021], all of our supply chains continue to go full speed heading into kind of the pre-summer months.”

Microsoft has set a record after its biggest launch in history with the release of Xbox Series X and S.

Xbox Series X and S were launched worldwide on 10th November. Series X is available at $499 while Series S is available at $299.
