The reshoots for the upcoming HBO Max cut are old news. Most members of the main cast like Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, and Ray Fisher all came back for reshoots late last year, but the biggest surprise of all turned out to be Leto’s return as Joker. Snyder reveals that there was a major purpose for bringing back Jared Leto. The long history of conflict between Batman and Joker has been teased for a long time in the DCEU and so Snyder tried to put up this history in a way that he is able to in the future. He stated that this was his attempt to give the fans a little taste of the conflict that he initially had envisioned.

A Parting Gift

Zack Snyder’s cut of the Justice League is most likely the last chance that he will have of leaving his impression on the DCEU. His idea was not wrong when he considered that the tale of Batman and Joker cannot be established without digging further deep into the past that they share. With Robert Pattinson being cast as another batman, Snyder’s Justice League is probably the last time we see Batfleck and Leto’s Joker together on screen and Snyder is absolutely right in bringing them back together for the fans.
