What Mortal Kombat Is:

Set in a fictional universe that is divided into 18 realms, Morkat Kombat is a reference to the center of focus in the movie, A tournament that allows different realms to compete with each other in order to establish supremacy overall. With the concept of different nations, it is a general idea that one nation would try to show off its power by conquering others.  But this display of strength comes with the unforgettable price of the countless loss of lives.

To overcome this senseless killing, beings with the supreme powers, The Elder Gods, put a stop to all this. However it would have been unfair to stop the mighty from showcasing their might and to keep things civil, the Elder Gods put together a rulebook. Conquering and merging can only be done by invoking Mortal Kombat. Every generation, there will be a fighting tournament will be held. Whoever wins the Mortal Kombat tournament, loses the ability to age until the next one is held. If the invading realm can win ten tournaments in a row, they would have the right to take over.

Mortal Kombat 2021

Following the critical and commercial failure of the 1997 film Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, a third Mortal Kombat film languished in development hell for a period of nearly two decades. All hopes were gambled on the reboot for Mortal Kombat. After the announcement in May 2019, which revealed that the film had entered pre-production and would be shot in South Australia, with a release date of March 5, 2021, however, the release got delayed to April 16, 2021. Greg Russo tweeted in July 2019 that the film would indeed have an R- Rating and that the games’ fatalities would “finally be on the big screen.”

The New Trailer

The latest trailer for Mortal Kombat was released on February 18. The trailer provided a clear look at what is to be expected in the movie. Keeping what was stated in the synopsis and combining that with the latest trailer, it can be concluded that the film will feature a lot of story accurate scenes.

Hopefully, we will feast our eyes on the Sub Zero slaughter arc which will lead to the origin story of Scorpion. The movie will also put light on how Jax lost both of his arms. In my opinion, the best part of the movies will be the classic game dialogues like Scorpion’s, “Get Here!” and Shang Tsung’s, “Finish him!” which were revealed in the trailer.
