He has time and again opened up about his connection with the franchise and how thankful the actor is to have it in his kitty of work. When you’ve home-schooled while spending your childhood on a set, those movie scenes are pretty much all there is in your memories. It makes perfect sense that he’d feel embarrassed to watch himself act like a kid, especially since it occurred during those typically awkward growing-up years.

Daniel Expresses His Feelings About Playing Harry Potter

In an interview with Empire Magazine alongside Elijah Wood and Daniel once again opened up about his time as Harry Potter. Elijah Wood, popularly known for his role as Frodo Baggins in The Lord Of The Rings series, has a whole lot of stuff in common with Daniel, coming from major fantasy franchises. While interviewing each other, the pair swapped stories about being recognized for one another in public.

“I’m intensely embarrassed by some of my actings, obviously. But yeah, it’s like asking, ‘How do you feel about your teenage years?’ There’s so much in there that it’s almost impossible to single out one feeling. It’s hard to separate my relationship with Harry from my relationship with the films as a whole,”

Daniel stated. This clearly reveals how deeply he was connected to the character. He expressed his gratitude for getting this role and what a fantastic experience that was.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the experience. It showed me what I want to do with the rest of my life. To find out early on what you love is really lucky,” he said.

It’s understandable why the actor has mixed emotions about playing the character and even though there is still a long road for the very talented actor to walk on, Harry Potter will remain a major part of him no matter what.
