Few TV shows are lucky enough to make an exit while still on top of the numbers game, but that’s the case with CBS’ The Big Bang Theory, which will wrap things up this spring after twelve seasons. Star Kaley Cuoco has previously spoken with wistful excitement about the show’s big farewell but now doesn’t seem ready to let go of the beloved gig at all. Alas, no such mythical creatures exist that tie directly into The Big Bang Theory’s final episodes. There are only the feelings and emotions that Kaley Cuoco and her co-stars are experiencing while having to seriously consider spending the rest of their lives playing other characters beyond Penny, Leonard, and the rest.
During the conversation, Cuoco talked about the day she found out “The Big Bang Theory” would end after Season 12. In summer 2018, when the 12th season had begun filming, “Big Bang” co-creator Chuck Lorre summoned the actors to his office. Cuoco and Galecki thought it was going to be a discussion about a 13th season, “which Johnny and I had talked a lot about,” she says. “Did we want to do it? And we really did.” But no, that wasn’t it — and here Cuoco paused. “How do I want to say this and make sure I say it correctly?” she asks herself.
Why Kaley Cuoco freaked out

During an interview on “The One Show” Wednesday, the actress, 35, discussed moving on from her role as Penny when “The Big Bang Theory” came to a close in May 2019. Given that she’d spent over a decade shooting 12 seasons of the fan-beloved show, Cuoco said it was difficult to imagine her next steps.
In 2018, Forbes reported that Cuoco was the second-highest-paid TV actress of the year, earning $24.5 million pretax between June 1, 2017, and June 1, 2018. That ranking was filed after the actress, along with the four other original cast members, each took a $100,000 pay cut in 2017 so that Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik could earn more.
