What happens when a powerful badass cosmic Hero learns the art of magic? You get an even powerful Superhero
Carol Danvers, a.k.a. Captain Marvel, is an amazing and equally powerful superhero of Marvel comics. There is a vast amount of people who believe that she can’t get any powerful than the massive power level she already stands on, well that is about to change. It turns out that her latest love interest packs more benefits than just immense love. The latest issue of Kelly Thompsons’s Captain Marvel series brought about a shocking turn of events, leaving the readers in awe. Carol just got into a romantic relationship with none other than the sorcerer supreme himself, Doctor Strange.
As painful as it might be for the male readers, it is true, the badass yet lovely and flawless hero has found love in the equally powerful Doctor Stephen Strange, the master of mystic arts and Earth’s sorcerer supreme. Although it might seem heartbreaking, it is also intriguing as it unlocks doors to numerous new and amazing possibilities for both of the characters. One such possibility has already been teased i.e., Captain Marvel might serve as the perfect Sorcerer Supreme in the MCU.
The Beginning Of A New Love Story
After spending countless issues trapped in the post apocalypse future and facing numerous hardships, Captain Marvel returns to the present of the original timeline in Captain Marvel #27. Spending so much time in a dark environment, without being accompanied by any companions is bound to mess with a person’s state of mind and the same happens to Carol. Upon her return, she struggles with severe depression despite the attempts of her friends of cheering her up. Trying to tackle this problem, she visits a bar where she unexpectedly runs into Doctor Strange.
This marks the beginning of a new romantic relationship in the life of the cosmic hero. Evidently, the couple ended up spending some time together after all and Carol picks up a few tricks from the Sorcerer or he deliberately teaches her those tricks in order to express his affection to her. The brand new magical costume of Captain Marvel serves as evidence of the couple’s blooming relationship.
Why is Captain Marvel a Perfect Sorcerer
The actual nature of magic is a strange mystery. Everyone believes in their own views of what magic actual is, and so do different wielders of magic in Marvel comics. However, it is believed that anyone can harness mystical powers provided that they possess the sheer dedication and the mental capability to understand it. Doctor Druid, marvel’s very own supernatural monster hunter, once stated that magic is nothing more than manipulating radiations for casting spells while explaining magic to a time-travelling Natasha Romanoff in Secret Avengers #20. Keeping Druid’s explanation in mind, we can conclude that Captain Marvel would serve as a perfect Sorcerer Supreme as her own powers include absorbing radiation and shooting them as energy blasts.
Although mastering something as difficult as magic can be a near-impossible task for a normal fellow, Captain Marvel has the great benefit of having Doctor Strange as a teacher. If Carol manages to master magical arts, she would become one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel universe. Her strength might even rival that of Doctor Strange, although he posses something far more important than abilities- “Experience”. Even the Ancient One stated that “talent without training is nothing,” so Strange still has the upper hand, however with her new abilities, she has definitely surpassed characters like Thor and Hulk, some of the strongest beings in the Marvel universe. It would be exciting to see where do these new abilities and new relationship leads the hero.
