Doctor Strange 2 Update

Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness Officially Finishing Filming This Week Confirmed

The sequel of the original Doctor Strange movie is wrapping up its filming this week in the UK, confirmed by none other than Kevin Feige himself.

The long-awaited Doctor Strange movie sequel, Doctor Strange: The Multiverse of Madness is finally arriving this year. Doctor Strange has been one of the most powerful and amazing characters of the MCU. He is likely to play an even more crucial role now that most of the original Avengers are gone. The fans love to see him in action and Benedict Clumber, who plays the role of Doctor Strange, also gives the role his all and completely nails his performance. The original Doctor Strange came out in 2016 and was a great success, making nearly 676 million worldwide and getting a 7.5 IMDb rating.

These factors should have resulted in an early sequel, however, this could happen due to numerous reasons and difficulties that became hindrances during the filming. Obviously, the ongoing pandemic played a big part in the delay, but there were other reasons like Scott Derrickson’s decision to quit the project only a few months prior to the production and Elizabeth Olsen’s involvement as the lead of another MCU project WandaVision. But both of the issues got resolved, Sam Raimi replaced Scott Derrickson as the director and Elizabeth Olsen finished WandaVision’s filming, and the filming of Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness was set into motion in the UK. COVID- 19 continued to cause trouble repeatedly as the production was put on hold from time to time because of lockdowns in the UK.

Kevin Feige’s Confirmation

Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, recently opened up about the filming of Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness in an interview with “The Undefeated”. He revealed that he was currently in London along with the other members of the crew and that the filming of Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness was to end this week. He also gave appreciation to Elizabeth Olsen for her great efforts as she started working on the movie immediately after wrapping up WandaVision. Even though UK was severely affected by the COVID-19 virus, it was very fortunate that none of the cast and crew members were reported to be sick or have any symptoms of the disease.  “I’m here in London on the set of Doctor Strange 2 for our final week, and Lizzie is here having worked non-stop from wrapping WandaVision to stepping right into Doctor Strange 2,” Feige said.

The Hype For Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness

Apart from the anticipation of the movie by the fans, Marvel has ensured to create an even greater buzz for the movie. Marvel Studios has managed to keep all the pictures of the set under wraps thereby giving out very few hints about the movie’s story. As for the cast, the studio has confirmed that Chiwetel Ejiofor and Rachel McAdams will be returning along with Benedict Wong for their respective roles of Mordo, Christine Palmer, and Wong. Also joining the cast is Xochitl Gomez who would play the role of America Chavez. Since no set photos have been revealed and only the names of 6 cast members have been confirmed, the fans have no idea what’s going to happen in the movie. The best guess is Marvel will drop a bomb of crazily awesome stuff in the movie. Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness comes out next year on March 25.
