Batman Discloses His Distrust On DC’s Most Monstrous Mystic Powerhouse

Justice League Dark’s “Dangerous Things” in Justice League #60discloses that Batman has no trust in DC’s most monstrous, mystical, supernatural powerhouses.

Warning : Spoilers

In the past, Batman has had many issues with supernatural powerhouses, in the DC Universe, both heroes, and villains. In the past, the Dark Knight has had a bunch of clashes, over methods and morals, with John Constantine. However, he has also made an alliance with Dr. Fate, Swamp Thing, and Deadman. Despite the many times they have worked in the past, the latest issue of Justice League reveals that Bruce does not trust the most monstrous of these mystical heavy-hitters.

Marvel's Batman

A portion in the issue shows the two leagues assembled at the headquarters because of the discovery that Merlin is back and inflicting havoc. This mighty magician has been assembling an army, which could be the rise of his knights, who are all set to ravage the world in “Future State.” Nonetheless, Batman has his faith in the Dark team, after working closely with them, especially after they proved themselves worthy by defeating the Upside Down Man and the Otherkind while they invaded to reclaim magic as their own.

Why does Batman not trust

The Dark Knight appoints Zatanna as the leader of the team, and Constantine and Bobo (Detective Chimp) as her support. What makes Batman suspicious is the way Etrigan talks about maintaining order in heaven and hell, and how the Earth is merely a doomed battleground. Another big red flag was that Etrigandoesn’t turn into Jason Blood at all instead he simply delivers the message. This is worrisome since the Caped Crusader has always had a good rapport with Jason despite tense moments in the past.

As the Dark squad departs, Etrigan is held back by Bruce for a second, and Bruce warms him not to hurt or undermine the newly appointed team leader. He has always had a close relationship with her and he feels as if he owes it to Zatanna’s father to protect her. We then see Etriganboldly make fun of Batman for threatening him but Batman makes it clear that no matter what he is The Batman and has the power to threaten anyone. He surely does not trust the demon and Batman will make sure he pays for his actions, given the ever crosses the line.

Batman

It seems like the Dark Team has a lot of work ahead of them, with Merlin unleashing monsters across America and magical heroes such as Ragman under threat, and especially if Batman’s distrust of Etrigan turns out to be true.
