Ever since the long-running sitcom ended in 2019, the cast moved on and started their own different projects. With streaming films, new television series, podcasting, and game show hosting, the cast have tried their hands on every facet of entertainment. Although mostly the whole cast got busy with major projects if there is one The Big Bang Theory star that the fans have not heard about much since the series ended in 2019. However, the actress just landed her first major role after working on one of the biggest CBS sitcoms.
Melissa Rauch’s big project
Melissa Rauch is all set to star in the Night Court revival, as reported by Deadline. She has previously been associated with the show as an executive producer but now she has decided to star as the lead of the reboot after reading the pilot of the reboot penned down by Dan Rubin.
More about Night Court revival
The revival centers around Abby Stone (played by Rauch), the daughter of Harry Stone, who leads the same night shift in Manhattan arraignment court as her father. Night Court revival focuses on her as she tries to maneuver a courtroom filled with cynics, just like the original.
The show will have close ties with its well-known predecessor and even Night Court star John Larroquette will return in his role as the sex-crazed prosecutor Dan Fielding. Rauch will head Night Court’s revival along with her husband, Winston Rauch, and Rubin. This reprise was actually Rauch’s brainchild as she was already a fan of the original ABC sitcom, originally pitching it to Warner Bros. TV. through her After January Productions.
Melissa seems strategic about her next moves
Melissa has mostly been silent about her post The Big Bang Theory activities however, she does not shy away when it comes to appreciating or shouting out her fellow cast members on their new ventures. She highly praised Kaley Cuoco’s The FlightAttendant after its HBO Max release.
Unfortunately, the fans will not get to see Abby Stone interact with her father Harry Stone in the Night Court revival, since the original star Harry Anderson passed away a few years ago. Nonetheless, the show is going to pay tribute to Anderson in many ways and the inclusion of John Larroquette’s is bound to develop a connection between the late star and Melissa Rauch’s character. We hope Dan Fielding serves as a good father figure to Abby and she eventually finds out her group of misfits just like her father.
This news about Melissa Rauch’s Night Court gig adds to the nice post-Big Bang Theory news in recent months. We are excited to hear more about the reboot as it continues to take shape.
