After the Black Clover anime series came to an unexpected end everyone had been wondering what’s next for its future and here’s the best answer.
Black Clover is an anime series based on the popular Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yuki Tabata. The series revolves around the story of a young boy named Asta who was born without any magic in a world where magic is considered everything. Despite his lack of power, Asta works harder than everyone else to fulfill his dream of becoming the Wizard King. The anime series was first released in October 2017 and after a four-year run came to a sudden end in March 2021. Without involving intriguing new stuff, the show secured a huge fanbase which kept getting bigger. And that’s why a sudden end hit the fans like a train but it was the best option considering the limited option they had.
Why Black Clover Ended
Black Clover delivered great action-packed scenes with loads of comedy all in a great quality of animation. This is quite a feat by Pierrot studios as not all anime series manages to excel in all of these fronts. Pierrot studios even managed to deliver regular episodes with ease without degrading the quality of animation. So why did the anime end after a new story arc had just begun? Well, the answer is simple, its fell victim to its own success (sort of). By being consistent with new releases, the anime caught up to the ongoing manga and ran out of the story to animate. The only two options they had were either to make filler episodes (which everyone hates when done in excess and on a regular basis) or to end the series and start again once enough story material has stacked up. So ending the series was a better choice or they could have risked losing the interest of the viewers. But in order to keep the fans entertained, they announced that a Black Clover movie was in the works.
This would be the very first movie in the series and continue to amuse the fans just like the show did. Just 2 days before the show ended, a new Black Clover movie was announced which would come out in 2022. The movie is set to release in mid-2022 in Japan and soon after for the rest of the world. As for the plot, it is being speculated that it will follow in the footsteps of Demon Slayer and conclude the next story arc in the movie. It is expected that the movie would cover up to manga chapter 273, the only problem being the massive workload that comes with animating so much story, therefore, the fans should be ready for a delay in the release of the movie.
Demon Slayer was a great success and so was its follow-up movie, “Demon Slayer: Mugen Train” and the second season of the series comes out this year too and this is what may happen with Black Clover too. If the movie is successful like it is expected to be, we may soon hear about the return of the series with more fun and magic and the story of our favorite magicless boy. We would just need to be patient because, considering the popularity of Black Clover, it’s not going to end completely any time soon!
