Since Al Ewing and Joe Bennett’s run on The Immortal Hulk is coming to an end, the series will definitely be considered as one of the best takes on the character ever. It redefined Hulk, explained how he’s Immortal, introduced the Green Door which is located in the deepest corners of the earth and guarded by “One Below All”. The door is considered to be the power source for all the Gamma Infected Mutates.

The Horrifying True Origin Story

In the latest previews, the story is manifested to take place in 9,500 BCE in Jordan. It’s there that a young boy named ‘Tammuz’ and an elder are supervising the ‘eye of deity’ name “Mother Goddess”. It’s green in color and glimmering in a chest of skeletons.

The elder one explains to Tammuz how ‘initially they thought that the Mother Goddess watching over them with Green Eye was a blessing but later came to realize that beneath the shaking ground, pillar of ash and green flame, Mother Goddess’s Good Green eye became ROTTED’. The elder then expounded that their ancestors have spoken to him and in order to return everything back to normal they demand sacrifice.

He then kicks Tammuz in the chest and the boy’s eyes instantly glow green and Mother Goddess is activated. But while mutating, Tammuz spots that the Green Door is opening and there’s someone on the other side. The storyline reveals that the mutated boy “Tammuz” will be the first Gamma Mutant to open the Green Door.

But the bigger and even mightier question is what’s on the other side? Is it the Mother Goddess? Or is it some new Monster that’s been awakened?
