My Adventures With Superman Animated Series

My Adventures With Superman Animated Series Coming To HBO Max And Cartoon Network

What a great day for DC animation news, soon after the announcement of Batman: Caped Crusader, the fans of the big blue scout received an early Christmas present. Superman will be getting his own animated series.

My Adventures with Superman will follow Clark Kent as he builds his secret Superman identity and embraces his role as the hero of Metropolis and eventually the whole Planet including the Daily Planet. Set in the early days where Superman is just starting out, My Adventures with Superman will be a comedic serialized family show. The art style feels, unlike anything we have seen from DC animated shows, a child of anime and Disney cartoons.

Superman Animated Series

Lois Lane, who is growing into stardom as investigative journalist, takes aspiring photographer Jimmy Olsen, who is African American now, under her tutelage. All the while, Clark and Lois are slowly falling for each other, going on adventures and taking down super villains, uncovering mysteries and ultimately discovering what it means to be Superman and Lois Lane.

After the live-action CW series Superman & Lois received critical acclaim by audiences and critics alike, DC comics seem to super focused on marketing Clark and Lois’s relationship to the general masses.

Jimmy Olsen’s character was in desperate need of a revival after suffering a gruesome fate at the hands of Zack Snyder in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Jimmy Olsen, apart from being Superman’s best buddy and comic relief, provides the much-needed human perspective for the character Superman.

Superman will be voiced by actor Jack Quaid who is no different from the superhero genre. He plays Hughie Campbell in the Prime Video superhero series The Boys which has its own evil Superman counterpart, Homelander.

Two seasons of My Adventures with Superman have been greenlit from HBO Max and Cartoon Network and we hope for many more to come.
