It’s finally happening…..Emilia Clarke is joining MCU with ‘SECRET INVASION’ and there’s a reason why she decided to do so. Marvel Studio will continue expanding its TV viewership by launching exclusive content for Disney + Hotstar viewers.
Among the many projects that are in the picture, one such is Secret Invasion, which will also see the much-awaited return of ‘Nick Fury’ and ‘Talos the Skrull’ who was first seen in Captain Marvel. Earlier, there were a lot of rumors that Marvel was planning to make a series on former S.H.I.E.L.D director and it will most likely showcase much younger years of the director.
In December last year, while Disney + Hotstar was trying to work on getting more content, MCU architect Kevin Feige, announced the Secret Invasion series. But ever since its announcement, the casting of the series has been a bit slow. The show will showcase a lot of new talent like ‘Olivia Colman, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Killian Scott, and of course Emilia Clarke.
New Stars Incoming: Why The G.O.T Star Joined The Cast?
While the other newbies are still quiet about their involvement, Emilia Clarke has openly revealed that she’s going to be a part of the franchise. In a recent interview to “Comic Books”, the G.O.T star revealed why she made up her mind to join the show and explained that she is just too impressed with what MCU is doing right now. She also expressed that she feels “really cool” about joining the franchise.
Emilia said “I grew up reading fantasy fiction, so I know that’s not the same as the actual comic book itself, but that was where my imagination lived. I just think what they are doing right now is so exciting and so cool, and so on the cutting edge of it”. She added “To be part of that family feels like, “Oh my god, I’m in the cool kid crowd. That’s so cool”
MCU’s Future Prospects
Plot specifics for the show are still very meager because the production has not even started. There isn’t even a release date that’s been finalized because MCU has other content waiting to be released on Disney + Hostar which also includes ‘LOKI’ which is set to release in the 2nd week of June 2021. It’s certainly very difficult and quite unclear as to what her role might be but out of the set of possible characters, she might be ‘Queen Veranke’ or ‘Abigail Brand’.
When asked about how Marvel Studio’s current plans are “cutting edge” as MCU is going through a metamorphosis phase with some of its lead characters gone, the franchise might be at risk of losing fans if they aren’t perfectly re-established and re-invented in the time to come. But for now, the good news is that MCU is trying to ingress a lot of amazing actors like ‘EMILIA CLARKE’ and that certainly indicates that it has some amazing projects lined up for its fans.
