In the age of ‘HEROES REBORN’, the heroes of Marvel Universe have been restored by Squadron Supreme (a merciless group of heroes who end their enemies and that too brutally. As the series moved forward, the team dealt their fair share of enemies and emerged victorious, including the one with Power Princess who defeated one of MCU’s most deadly villains Gorr – The God Butcher.
GORR: THE ULTIMATE VILLIAN
First seen in Thor: God of Thunder, Gorr was a vindictive and fearsome force and it was kind of hard to deal with him. After welding the ‘ALL BLACK NECROSWORD’, Gorr went on a campaign to wipe out all the gods from all the cosmos and destroying everyone along the way. This turned out to be a long war and continued for eons until he battled young Thor in the 9th century, which both of them barely survived. After this, he tasked all the gods in his captivity to make a “GODBOMB”, a weapon so powerful that it could wipe gods across all time and space.
It ultimately fell across three time streams – the 9th century Thor, a present day Thor who fought along with Avengers and the King Thor who then too fought against Gorr and defeated him. Thor absorbed the entire energy of the Godbomb and then asked his younger self to finish the fight for him. Gorr would come back as a threat after being resurrected by God Of Mischief “LOKI” and would ultimately be defeated by both the brothers fighting together. Gorr will make his MCU debut in Thor: Love and Thunder and is being played by “Christian Bale”.
GRAND ENTRY OF POWER PRINCESS
It certainly feels like Gorr’s role in Heroes Reborn was not exactly the same as his canon appearance. While the Avengers no longer hold the place they used to in the world, Squadron Supreme has taken their place. One such character is ‘Power Princess’ who is a ruthless and bloodthirsty warrior and Squadron’s take on Wonder Woman. Power Princess turned out to be a very powerful force and she not only could catch the All Black but also turn it into a weapon like thorny Necro ‘Lasso’. Using Lasso, she defeated Gorr and saved the heavens. It’s a reinvention of one of the finest battles of Thor and is clearly a shout-out from Jason Aaron.
Her being able to kill him also proves how powerful her incarnation is because even with such powers and being God, Thor still had problems defeating him. But Power Princess not only defeated him but that too with his own weapon (Which also makes it one of the most powerful weapons of the MCU right now).
