These romantic psycho thrillers gained a lot of popularity and guess what, it’s coming back for another season. The shooting of the third season of YOU has finally been completed and the series is expected to release towards the end of 2021 and since season 2 ended with a shocking twist and in a cliffhanger situation, it was only fair that the series is finally coming back.
Netflix’s official IG handle posted a picture of Joe with the caption “Don’t worry; we have eyes on Joe at all times. Happy S3 wrap”. The production for the 3rd season started back in February 2020 with co-creator ‘Sera Gamble’. But due to this unprecedented situation of the pandemic, the series couldn’t complete its shooting. But later that year, Netflix confirmed that the shooting had resumed in November 2020. Netflix also attached a picture of Penn wearing a mask, ‘Hello You’ along with a note stating ‘We recommend you stay at least 6 feet from Joe Goldberg at all times. YOU S3 is back in production’.
The Possible Plot For You Season 3:
Netflix confirmed that the 3rd season will have 10 episodes and ‘Penn and Victoria Pedretti both will be back for this season. Along with these two, some new members will also join the cast of YOU Season 3. Season 2 ended with a lot of questions, including the biggest one of them all ‘Who will be Joe’s next victim? The 2nd season of the series ended with Joe and Love expecting a baby and moving to a quiet neighborhood for that. And just when you think things will finally be at peace, Joe’s attention turns to a mysterious person living next door. A theory suggested that the person is Joe’s mother. Penn however rejected this theory saying ‘No, she’s definitely not my mother’.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Joe (aka Penn) said “I think he deserves something better now, you know? Like, I’m not sure that that’s possible. What does Joe need? Joe needs, ugh, Joe needs justice, but what does that mean? Does that mean prison? Does that mean death? I don’t know”. When asked whether his character will be killed in the end? He replied “He inevitably will be, right? I mean, he has to be”.
So we are very certain that Joe and Love will be back along with the creepy or not so creepy neighbor. The Last Ship actor, Travis also joins the cast and will be playing the role of a wealthy Cary, who initiates a conversation with Joe and invites him to his ‘inner circle’ unaware of the consequences. UNDERWORLD superstar Scott Speedman is also there and he’ll be playing the role of a rich and successful businessman, husband, and uncommunicative father.
Sadly, the trailer or teaser of the third season has not yet been released, but we hope that we’ll get to see them soon. At least we can be certain that they will be out before the end of this year because that’s when the series will be released.
