WhatsApp Is Going To Introduce New Features In WhatsApp Web

WhatsApp to soon have desktop beta which will have multitasking device support for connecting up to 4 devices at the same time.

WhatsApp, one of the most popular messaging applications with having over 2 billion users worldwide, is working on a WhatsApp for the desktop beta which will also have multitasking device support for up to 4 devices simultaneously. It will let you connect your WhatsApp account on up to four devices, including only one smartphone. The remaining three devices include WhatsApp Web, WhatsApp desktop, and Facebook Portal. This feature will also give you the benefit of using WhatsApp on your linked devices without an active internet connection on the main device.

The WhatsApp Web beta version was spotted by WABetaInfo, known for tracking new features related to WhatsApp. WABetaInfo released a report sharing a screenshot of the new feature along with a statement saying,

“Make calls and send messages without connecting your phone. Use WhatsApp on up to 4 devices at the same time.”

Additionally, WhatsApp posted some pointers regarding the new feature. The user will not be able to message or call from the web, desktop, or Portal to users who have an outdated version of WhatsApp on their phone. The feature may also be affected in the beta version.

With the help of a multi-device beta program, users will be able to use a new exclusive version of the WhatsApp for Desktop-WhatsApp for Desktop beta, as per the report. The WhatsApp for Desktop beta will allow using WhatsApp without an internet connection on your main phone. If the WhatsApp Desktop is already downloaded, WhatsApp will automatically convert your version to the beta build. Making the process of linking a mobile phone to WhatsApp Web/Desktop remain the same as it was. Users will need to log in to WhatsApp Web/Desktop using the QR Code.

The other feature that has been confirmed is ‘disappearing mode’. The disappearing messages feature has already been available for users to apply on different chats. With disappearing mode, users will be able to convert all chats to disappearing mode where messages will automatically delete after a stipulated time period. Along with it, WhatsApp will also launch “view-once messages”. Once the feature is turned on, messages that are read or viewed once will disappear. A similar feature is available on Instagram and Snapchat.
