The Joker has launched a wave of “Boner Crimes” against Gotham in 1951 from Batman #66. Boner here refers to the sort of mistake that anyone makes. The Joker and the group try to rob the Gothic Electric Company in order to detect their withdrawal because nobody has comprehended that cutting the power of the building could make the elevators useless. Dumping the loot and using the stairs, the criminals hardly avoid Batman’s clutches and Joker is irate while reading the following day’s headline i.e. “Joker Pulls Boner of the Year!”
“So! They laugh at my boner, will they?! I’ll show them! I’ll show them how many boners The Joker can make!”, said the Gotham’s Clown Prince of Crime.
The headline has sparked inspiration and stated, “this emphasis on boners has given me an idea for a new adventure in crime! Gotham will rue the day it mentioned the word boner!”
Joker concocts an agenda to execute crimes established around the enormous “boners” in history, his first strike has recreated the 1950 grounding of the USS Missouri, but this time it’s a ship that is filled with diamonds. The headline of the next day comes and states, “Stunned By His Boner, Joker Lashes Back! Loots Stalled Liner!”
After a few days, it has been declared as “Batman‘s Greatest Boner”. And The Joker holds dinner. After seizing The Joker down and reclaiming the good names, the ultimate panel sees Joker behind bars as Batman has triumphantly declared, “Let’s hope we have the last of things like boners – and Jokers!”
There are a few quotes from Batman #66 that are worth noticing:
- “But only a sense of humour like The Joker’s could think of translating boners into crimes!”
- “Those boner crimes are making us look bad! And I’m worried about the boner he’s readying for you!”
- “It is well that I am ready to trick him into his boner!”
- “You were so busy forcing me into a boner, you forgot you were committing one yourself!”
