New Cover Introduces Warhammer 40K: Marneus Calgar to Marvel Comics

Warhammer 40K was first premiered in 1987. And since then it has become a dominant force in science fiction. In addition to the game, there are a countless number of novels and video games that have been created to enrich the world of Warhammer 40K. It is no surprise that the owner of Warhammer has announced a partnership with Marvel Comics. Marcel is in no mood to spare any expense with the Warhammer 40K’s creation.

Marneus Calgar will be telling the title of the character’s origin, by focusing on the leader of Ultramarines. It is the most iconic group of characters in Warhammer 40K. It is clad in blue power armor. This group is a religious fierce army. Though the universe is famous for the morally questionable characters. Calgar uses a tactician who is well known about who he commanded.

All the space marines are a commodity of genetic engineering. This makes them stronger and more resilient. Calgar was the first to be the Primaris Space Marine. This has given him reaction speeds, strength, and endurance. Kieron Gillen, the writer of comics and Jacen Burrows, artist, has shed light on Calgar being the first Primaris Space Marine.

Calgar seems proud of his armor

The new cover depicts Calgar who is standing proudly along with his armor that is complete with iron halo and eagle head pauldrons. The iron halo denotes his valor and strength in combat. This provides the force to his armor.

The image is in contrast between hellish oranges and Calgar’s blue power armor. It symbolizes gothic designs that are painted cover art in unique Warhammer 40K representation.

Fans of the franchise have reasonable reason to be amused for this alliance between Games Workshop and Marvel. Burrows is well remembered for his unique art with Marvel characters like Punisher while Gillen has a verified track record with the Eisner Award-nominated comic The Wicked and The Divine. The couple is also clearly fans of the franchise as well.

Between the top tier mastery and elegant variant cover, lovers of Warhammer 40,000 have a reason to be thrilled for Marvel’s take on the future in Warhammer 40,000: Marneus Calgar.
