AMC theatres plan to reopen its movie theatres all over the US. This is in addition to the latest deadline for the subscription of its MoviePass-style A-List customers via an email.
More than 100 theatres will open starting from August 20th. It also plans to open several other locations eventually. It will let the locations to be accessed “such that about two-thirds of our theatres across the country should be open no later than September 3.”
AMC has the largest chain of theatres in the country as it controls around 600 theatres in the US alone. But since the spread of the coronavirus, AMC has faced a lot of challenges due to the total closure for safety measures. Also, all the Hollywood releases came to a standstill due to the pandemic.
AMC sends an email to its A-list members
The company has sent an email to its A-list members. It says, “The remaining AMC locations will open after we get further clearance from state and local authorities that it is safe to do so.
AMC also detailed down the new safety measure to be followed. It says all customers and staff would wear a mask though its advisable and not mandatory.
The AMC also said that customers can “can expect continuous extra cleaning and disinfecting of high traffic areas.”
AMC also greatly emphasized on limiting the seating capacity in the auditoriums significantly. The company also claimed to use ‘upgraded MERV 13 air filters’ and ‘high-tech HEPA vacuums.
Which Movie will release in the AMC’s re-opening stage?
The movies, AMC plans to release in the reopen of its theatres include: The New Mutants and Christopher Nolan’s Tenet.
“As for library titles, we will be showing all of these beloved movies on the big screens of AMC: Back to the Future, Beauty and the Beast, Black Panther, Bloodshot, Ghostbusters, Goonies, Grease, I Still Believe, Jumanji: The Next Level, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back.”
AMC also spoke on the A-List for its members
“Now, we have created the ability for you to control when your A-List membership is reactivated. You can choose to resume your A-List membership any time between now and December 1, 2020. We will send you an email when your favorite theatre is open and then, and only when you feel ready to return to our theatres, simply visit your account on our mobile app or website to reactivate your membership. Then, you will be able to start making A-List movie reservations immediately.”
According to AMC, its customers can at any time cancel the subscription. Also, if the company plans to make some changes to the charging plan it will convey it to its customers “well in advance”.
