Dragon Ball Super Movie: Good news for all Dragon Ball fans as our Saiyan warriors are returning on the big screen next year.
It’s a great time to be a Dragon Ball fan as Toei Animation just announced the return of Dragon Ball Super. The Dragon Ball franchise is one of the biggest anime franchises in the world and the main character is everyone’s favourite. Our mighty Saiyan warrior Goku has a gigantic fanbase that is still growing to date. The latest instalment in the Dragon Ball series was the Dragon Ball Super anime which ended in March 2018 after episode 131 aired while the manga is still continuing. However, the next instalment in the franchise is a brand-new Dragon Ball Super movie that is set to release in the next year.
As you may know that May 9 is annually celebrated as the “Goku Day” in Japan, as the words in the character’s name can be translated to 5 and 9 and this year the fans received a great gift on this memorable occasion. Toei Animation, the Japanese animation studio that handles Dragon Ball’s anime series, used this year’s Goku Day to announce that a Dragon Ball Super movie is in the works. The details about the project are very scarce as of now but here’s everything we know about it so far.
Dragon Ball Super Movie 2: Everything We Know So Far
Toei Animation’s announcement revealed that the second Dragon Ball Super movie will take place as a part of DBS’ timeline going in continuation with the Dragon Ball Z sequel series. It has also been revealed that this movie will have little to no connection to the Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie that came out in 2018 and shattered the Box Office with its massive success. What’s special about this movie is that the original series creator and author, Akira Toriyama, is working closely with the studios in respect to the project.
Toriyama will be handling everything including story composition, character design, and the script. Toei Animation is reportedly claiming that this project will be a “Dragon Ball movie unlike any other in its history” thanks to the collaboration between the studios and the author. The studio was very discrete in not revealing much about the Dragon Ball Super movie, in order to keep the hype up among the fans, however, the author came forward with a letter to the fans to discuss the movie. “An all-new movie since Dragon Ball Super: Broly is currently in the making! Just like the previous movie, I’m heavily leading the story and dialogue production for another amazing film. I really shouldn’t talk too much about the plot yet, but be prepared for some extreme and entertaining bouts, which may feature an unexpected character.
We’ll be charting through some unexplored territory in terms of the visual aesthetics to give the audience an amazing ride, so I hope everybody will look forward to the new movie!” Toriyama stated. It has been 3 years since DBS anime ended and therefore fans are waiting vigorously for its return. With so scarce details, fans have started to speculate the possibilities for the plot of the movie, making assumptions about the return of older villains like Cell and Cooler. It has also been speculated that the movie will try to cover the next Dragon Ball Super story arc from the manga just like what happened to the Demon Slayer: Mugen Train movie. Dragon Ball Super season 2 is expected to return soon and a movie on top of that is like an early Christmas for Dragon Ball fa
