Apple has announced a new feature for its music streaming platform called Apple Music Sing, which transforms any Apple device into a karaoke machine. This highly anticipated feature is included in the iOS 16.2 update and allows users to view song lyrics and sing along with improved synchronization, adjust vocal levels, and even duet with others. While Apple’s announcement stated that the feature would be available to all Apple Music subscribers worldwide, it appears that it is only available to those who use compatible Apple devices.
Access to Apple Music Sing is not guaranteed for all iPhone or iPad users. According to TechCrunch, only users with an iPhone 11 or newer or a third-generation iPhone SE will be able to use the karaoke mode on Apple Music. Among the iPhone models that are compatible with iOS 16, Apple Music Sing will only be available on the iPhone SE (3rd generation), iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13, and iPhone 14, as well as their corresponding mini, Plus, Pro, and Pro Max versions, and any future models.
You Can Try Apple Music Sing On Other Apple Devices
If an iPad is your device of choice, karaoke compatibility will only be offered for the iPad (9th generation), iPad Mini (6th generation), iPad Air (4th generation), and iPad Pro (3rd generation), including any later and newer iterations of these devices. Additionally, users of the third-generation Apple TV 4K should be able to use the feature.
Anyone who upgrades the aforementioned devices to iOS 16.2 or newer should have access to Apple Music Sing. It does not imply, however, that every song on Apple Music has access to the capability. Only 80% of the platform’s whole music library will be converted into karaoke songs in time for the general release, according to TechCrunch, but more should be added over time.
There will be a new ‘Sing’ category tile that includes over 50 playlists that cover a variety of music genres, eras, and occasions that will appeal to every type of vocalist, amateur or otherwise, to help Apple Music users select songs to try out. Simply play any music from the “Sing” library to get started, then tap the song that is playing to access its page at the bottom of the screen. The song’s lyrics will then begin to appear after you tap the icon in the bottom-left corner. To change the volume of the vocals, click the microphone icon above the music controls. Start belting as soon as possible to fully experience Apple Music Sing. This is the final and most crucial phase.
