Amazon Prime is ready with a new feature of Watch Party. Like other streaming platforms, it has come up with a Watch Party feature. It will let 100 users watch TV shows or movies together. As coronavirus has forced people to stay indoors and in isolation, this new step would encourage them towards entertainment. Everything is shifted to online, be it schooling or hanging out with friends. Watching TV together with many of the friends will definitely be interesting.
Amazon Prime is slowly rolling out the new feature that is called Watch Party. It will allow a maximum of 100 people to huddle together in a virtual room to watch shows and movies. The feature is no doubt a browser-based. It will work on any browser but not on Apple‘s Safari. There will be a synchronized playback under the control of the host. There will also be a chat feature on the right side of the screen where one can communicate with the ones that he is sharing the screen with. As of now. This feature program is supported only on desktop computers.
Feature Soon Be Reaching International Subscribers
One needs to be the subscriber of the Amazon Prime that is based on the US. This feature needs an update only and it will be available at no extra cost. It will soon be expanded to international subscribers as well. Subscribers can permit any VOD records included in Amazon Prime Video for Watch Party. But, purchased content cannot be streamed as of now, with this new feature.
Amazon Prime had started testing the feature in April with its gaming platform Twitch. Hulu followed the same and started testing the Watch Party feature in May.
With the proficiency to watch and converse with up to 100 people, Amazon Prime’s Watch Party feature is worth checking out.
