By the end of CBS’s popular comedy “The Big Bang Theory”, Amy and Sheldon get married. But Mayim Bialik says that things could have taken a different turn. Find out how?
Sheldon Cooper proposes to Amy in the Season 10 finale of “The Big Bang Theory” and Amy accepts his proposal in the premiere of the 11th season. However, at the time in 2017 when the episode came out, Bialik told Insider that she herself wasn’t aware what Amy’s response will be but she could see it going either way.
On being recently caught up by Insider, to chat about her partnership with Neuriva, Bialik reiterated the fact that she did not have any clue that Amy was eventually going to accept Sheldon’s proposal in Season 11 premiere of “The Big Bang Theory”. The actress said, “One thing about me is that I actually don’t lie. It’s just a feature of my personality,” Bialik went on. “So, no. If I would’ve known, I would’ve told you, ‘I know, but I’m not telling you.'”
Even the TBBT writers were not sure of Amy’s response.
Much to the fans surprise, Bialik claimed that it was not just the fans and her who were speculating the various scenarios of how things would play out and the different responses Amy could give to Sheldon. Even “The Big Bang Theory” writers were not sure about Amy’s response.It was something that they were still trying to figure out after Season 10 ended in summer 2017.
She said, “To be honest, I’m sure that our writers got to sort of talking it out, we have such an amazing group of writers and I was close with several of them and actually kind of talked to them in the offseason – and not influence them in any way.”Bialik further said that the writers did not even have a unanimous decision or agreement on Amy’s answer and it was something that they had to decide as a show.
Everyone knows what happened as a result― Amy and Sheldon ended up getting married by MarkHamill, in the finale of Season 11. Bialik described Hamill as an unbelievable person to get to interact with and someone who she would love to work with again. “I would love any opportunities to continue interacting [with Hamill], but as for now, it’s been restricted to the Twitter-sphere,” Bialik said while referencing some of their back and forths on Twitter.
Will there be a TBBT Reunion?
When asked about a Big Bang Theory Reunion Bialik said its still fairly early for a reunion as “The Big Bang Theory” ended just two years ago, in 2019.”I haven’t heard anything about it and I just feel really lucky that I get to continue working with Jim Parsons in a producer capacity,” Bialik said. The two of them are working together on her Fox series, “Call Me Kat.”
Nonetheless, a Big Bang Theory reunion in the next few years will not be a surprise as HBO Max is already working on a few reunion specials, with the casts of the famous shows― F.R.I.E.N.D.S and Sex and The City. Though it aired on CBS, The Big Bang Theory is also a Warner Bros production.
Bialik further assured,”I’m at Warner Bros. and a happy Warner Bros. employee. So if anybody needs me, I’m just right there.”
