It seems like an early Christmas as Apple decides to provide its users a ton of new options in Apple’s iOS 14.5 for most of its emoji.

Apple is considering adding new emoji from the Unicode Consortium’s Emoji 13.1 release as a part of Apple’s iOS 14.5, this includes skin tone options for some emoji along with a range of new smiley faces and hearts. The enterprise is also intents to make some changes to other pre-existing emojis. The most significant change to the notice is probably the new changes to skin tone and gender presentation. Popular emoji-like “Couples Kissing” and “Couples with Heart” also have a wide variety of skin tone variations for all options available now.

As a bonus, along with more skin tones, the bearded emoji has also been modified to allow for not only the neutral “Person: Beard” but also “Male: Beard” an astonishing “Woman: Beard.”

Is that all for Apple’s iOS 14.5 update?

Apple’s iOS 14.5 update also includes its initiative on the set of new smiley faces included in the Unicode Consortium’s newest emoji set. The “Exhaling Face,” “Face With Spiral Eyes,” and “Face In Clouds” come as a part of this new update. Another go-to category, Hearts, also has two new members joining the rest, these are “Heart on Fire” and “Mending Heart.” All these new conceptual emoji ideas were approved by the Unicode Consortium in September.

Apple’s iOS 14.5 update gave vendors the authority to add them into their products and services since then. However, the final initiative whether or not to include them depending on the design of the product and how the emoji can steal the spotlight on their products. This is one of the reasons why a smiley face on the iPhone looks more distinguishable from the one on Twitter. “When to release the new emoji” is another one of the factors that lie in the companies’ will, for example, Pixel Users have been enjoying this new updated emoji Pack since December.

And there’s more to it

Apple is also attempting a few minor changes to some existing emojis. For instance, “The Rock Climbing” emoji will now feature a helmet, the “Syringe” emoji is now more of a generic one rather than one Filled with blood. In addition to this, the look of the “Headphones” is also modified to resemble the AirPods Max. The alterations to the syringe could be significantly helpful to some writing about COVID-19. Not only is the new syringe way less intimidating when emptied of blood, but it’s also more applicable to vaccinations, which will hopefully become a lot more common soon.
