The film serves as the conclusion to James Gunn’s MCU trilogy.
Marvel Studios debuted a fresh TV ad for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 during the Super Bowl. The beloved trilogy’s last installment, the sequel, is James Gunn‘s final addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 follows Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) and his band of misfits as they battle Chukwudi Iwuji’s High Evolutionary, a new antagonist that takes place years after the events of Avengers: Endgame. The High Evolutionary is a character from comic books who is driven by the desire to create the ideal being to the point where he kidnaps, mutilates, and splices together beings from all across the galaxy. The first trailer for the movie suggests that the antagonist is related to Rocket Raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper), as we’ll be taken back in time to witness a young Rocket Raccoon.
With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Gunn is introducing more characters besides the High Evolutionary. Will Poulter played Adam Warlock in the threequel, a perfect bioengineered person who was mentioned in the Vol. 2 end-credits sequences. Given that the High Evolutionary appears to be the main nemesis in the threequel, it would make sense if the bad guy had some connection to Adam’s genesis tale. Other new MCU cast members appearing in Vol. 3 include Daniela Melchior from The Suicide Squad, Maria Bakalova from Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, and Nico Santos from Superstore. Bakalova is Cosmo the space dog’s voice. On the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, Cosmos made its MCU debut and has since grown in popularity.
When Will Guardians of the Galaxy Volume Three Be Released in Theaters?
Along with Zoe Saldana playing Gamora, Dave Bautista playing Drax, Karen Gillan playing Nebula, Pom Klementieff playing Mantis, and Vin Diesel provides the voice of Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. With a storyline he penned himself, Gunn is back to helm the film.
After Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is the second movie in the fifth phase of the MCU. On May 5, 2023, the threequel will premiere in theatres.
