An Upcoming Animated Batman series for HBO Max and Cartoon Network
Since the announcement of DC FanDome, DC fans knew something special was coming their way but now it’s official and it’s just *chef’s kiss*. Batman: Caped Crusader’s poster revealed today. Coming together as a team, Bruce Timm, Matt Reeves, and J.J. Abrams, and utilizing state-of-the-art animation technique and technologies available, Batman: Caped Crusader is set to reimagine Batman and his legendary rogues like Joker, Riddler, Bane, Penguin, Scarecrow, and even Mr. Freeze, with sophisticated storytelling, nuanced character development and intense action sequences all set in a visually striking world on HBO Max and Cartoon Network.
The Batman cowl on the poster oozes Golden-Age Batman vibes. The art style has Bruce Timm written all over it. The font is very reminiscent of Batman: The Animated Series style. Something about Batman: Caped Crusader points to a Noir Batman vibe. With the guidance of Batman animation veteran Bruce Timm, Matt Reeve is set to reshape the entire Batman media in his own image for years to come. Besides, one can never go wrong with Batman when it comes to the character’s track record of animated shows and movies.
All in all, Batman: Caped Crusader seems to be the spiritual successor of Batman: The Animated Series.
So many questions:
Will Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill return to voice Batman and Joker once again?
Will Bruce Timm follow his Bruce-Barbara fetish once again?
Will the show feature guns since it is about to be aired on Cartoon Network too?
Will Dr Death and Mad Monk finally show up?
How does one get Paul Dini onboard Batman: Caped Crusader? Asking for a friend.
