After being rescued from his captors Batman is still trying to hold his No-Kill rule in Future State Catwoman.
Batman has been admired and loved for his strong personality and his firm principles, such as the no-killing rule. Batman truly believes in bringing justice the right way. He always makes sure that he doesn’t kill off anyone before they are given a chance of defense. In Future State Catwoman #2 he is freed from the clutches of the Magistrate. His morals and his beliefs are at the question when he will take on Magistrate after he is freed.
Batman is known for his beliefs and his style of true justice. But it is because of this no-killing rule that Batman has let Joker cause havoc in Gotham a lot of times. Many other villains and evils have taken on Batman and used his morals to cause a great deal of trouble to the whole city. In Future State Catwoman also shows the same mentality he has. He is rescued by Talia al Ghul while Catwoman is fighting a lot of Magistrate guards.
Talia has no issues raining down strikes on the guards and anyone who stands in the path of justice. But Batman is very firm about not killing anyone in any way. Soon enough he realizes that the woman he loves Selina Kyle is also on the same train under their clutches. The big question is that will he be able to hold it together now. He will throw himself attacking or keep the anger inside when he watches someone he loves get hurt. He does let out his anger but he stayed true to his rule. He put his enemy down without putting them to the ground forever.
Although Batman is being shown as a strong straightforward hero in Future State Catwoman there have been instances where this rule has been on the back foot. Batman has killed in alternate timelines, dark series, and on the big screen too. So, the question is why is he so dedicated now about keeping true to this rule.
The chances are that the writers are just looking to rebuild Bruce’s character in a new mold. He is a strong and firm person who is truly a believer in the justice system. They could also be looking to move past the errors where the rule was broken, and repaint it as it was meant to be.
