When the roles of Bruce Wayne and Tommy Elliot were reversed in HUSH in a story, a new even darker Batman is born in Arkham Asylum.
DC Comics’ Dark Multiverse is a real weird world, where some of the greatest DC stories are flipped and turned into something dark, a mirror image of what they are in reality. The latest story of the Dark Multiverse shows a sinister tale of Batman hush, giving them glimpses of what happens if Bruce Wayne and his childhood mate Tommy Elliott’s roles were reversed. Surprisingly, the world still had a Batman but that Batman is born in Arkham Asylum and he is even darker.
On this Earth, instead of Alfred, Elliot takes care of the young orphan Bruce. Unfortunately, Tommy is not able to take care of Bruce like Alfred did, slowly the trauma in his mind took him on the way to madness and forced Elliot to admit him to Arkham Asylum for “treatment”. In the present day, Bruce has lost his life behind the mad wall of Asylum and Tommy is going to take over everything that belongs to Bruce: Wayne Industries, the Wayne Fortune, Talia al Ghul’s love, and the respect and admiration of the people of Gotham. However, all of this unravels in one-night thanks to the efforts of a more vengeful Batman than fans have ever seen before.
Batman is born in Arkham Asylum, How?
In the Tales of Phillip Kennedy Johnson’s The Dark Multiverse: Batman: Hush, Gotham has crossed every limit and has become insanely corrupt. While Tommy Elliot is getting all the respect and some help from the court owls and the League of Assassins who have been running Gotham, the efforts of a mysterious, seemingly demonic presence swiftly ends those relationships. The “Devil of Arkham” leaves a breadcrumb trail of ticket stubs and playbills from the Monarch Theater, as well as newspaper clippings of the Wayne murders for Tommy to find, leading him to the abandoned Wayne Manor. Once there, Tommy hears the news that a new Batman is born in Arkham Asylum.
He tells Tommy that now he knows the truth behind his parent’s death; that it was Tommy who paid to kill them. as the driver, he paid to kill his parents made a mistake, and killed the Waynes instead. He also told Tommy how a new Batman is born in Arkham Asylum. He reveals that he received hardcore training from his asylum inmates and learned what it takes to become that dark Batman who is going to take revenge on Bruce Wayne.
The Batman born in Arkham Asylum is as dark as that multiverse dark world. Despite being locked away in one of the worst places in the DC Universe, the creation of a Batman remained a constant, albeit one that is much darker and more terrifying than the original. It is a perfect example that nothing in this world or that dark world can stop the Dark Knight.
