Here’s what fans can expect from Better Call Saul season 6.
Breaking Bad was one of a kind, a legendary show that is still considered a masterpiece. Although Breaking Bad concluded its run in 2013 after five seasons and 62 episodes, it inspired numerous shows, some of which are even going on to date and that includes Better Call Saul. Better Call Saul is a prequel spin-off series that is set in the mid-2000s, revolving around Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk), an earnest lawyer and former con-man, into a greedy criminal defense attorney known as Saul Goodman.
Although it is a spin-off series, Better Call Saul is in a league of its own. Premiering in 2015, Better Call Saul is currently on its fifth season which concluded in April 2020. Now that the fifth season is over, what everyone has on their minds is when will the next installment in the Better Call Saul series arrive.
Better Call Saul Season 6 Release
In January 2020, right before the fifth season premiered on AMC, it was announced that the series is being renewed for another season. Sadly, Better Call Saul season 6 is also going to be the last since it was announced that it will be the final season of the series which will consist of 13 episodes, unlike the rest of the seasons which only contained 10 episodes. Although the series was coming up with a newer season every year after the premiere of the show, the trend changed after the fourth season was released in 2018. The patience of the fans was put to test when Better Call Saul season 5 took 2 years to return. Therefore, it seems like we still have to wait for some time until the next season arrives.
The production of season 6 was put on hold because of the ongoing pandemic, luckily, in February 2021, the announcement of the production resuming from March was done by Bob Odenkirk (Saul) himself. And later on March 10, Peter Gould, the executive producer of the show, tweeted a photo of the clapperboard of season 6 episode 1, captioned “And awaaaaaaaay we go!” In terms of precision, we can expect Better Call Saul season 6 to come out sometime in 2022, although a late 2021 release date is not entirely out of the question.
What Better Call Saul Season 6 Will Be About?
Better Call Saul season 6 is going to be the most thrilling one yet which will blow the minds of the fans to bits. Gould had previously revealed that this is a story that they have been working on since the first season of Breaking Bad came out, so it is going to be an epic conclusion and will forever change how we see Breaking Bad and its characters “I think by the time you finish watching Better Call Saul, you’re going to see Breaking Bad in a very different light. I think we’re going to learn things about the characters in Breaking Bad that we didn’t know.
We’re going to learn things about the events of Breaking Bad that we didn’t know. And we’re going to learn things about the fates of a lot of these characters that may surprise people or certainly throw them into a different light. I think we started this 2007, so that’s 13 years of work that’s distilled, that all has to fit together. Hopefully like a perfect jigsaw puzzle.” Peter Gould stated in an interview with Hollywood Reporter that took place in 2020. I guess we’ll just have to wait till 2022 to witness the conclusion that has been sown for a very very long time which would most definitely be worth the wait.
