In Justice Leauge’s (2017) Film, Bruce Wayne told that according to him the biggest superpower is being rich. Whatever he said seems true now. Bruce has immense wealth. He has billions of funds and resources at his disposal. This let him stay on the track of his mission as Caped Crusador to provide justice. He has better and more tools, tech and means any superhero in the DC Universe.
He wasn’t very rich when he first entered the comics in 1939. It was with time that he accumulated this much wealth that seems infinite. This has given birth to some awkward questions. Like What else could Bruce Wayne do with all this infinite money it wasn’t the Batman. Also, now fans wonder that why it is not that Bruce Wayne donates or just make use of all or almost wealth for the betterment of the Gotham city. Or he could just make use of the money for solving the existing problems in the Gotham city.
Questions raised on Batman’s intention
In a recent tweet, a journalist named Rebecca Renner asked why Batman don’t use his infinite wealth for providing a universal basic income to his city. This would automatically stop or at least reduce the crime from the city. She argued that instead of doing so he beats up the people in his Batsuit. He can and resources to feed every one person living in Gotham City. For sure, his helping the poor people with free food and money won’t end super villains like Joker. But it will reduce the crime rate as common and small criminals will be done away with. As he least they want by stealing is food or money., To these question, Batman’s writer James Tynion IV says that he hopes that these issues are eliminated in the next movies.
Since the Joker had taken away all the wealth from Batman, he would now use all these resources and money against Batman. Also, many offshore accounts helped Batman to spend in every way possible without worrying about being caught up. This has made things easier for Joker. If Joker hadn’t seized all the Batman’s accounts it was Batman who would be using all his resources and money against Joker.
What did Tynion say?
James Tynion has already thrown light on the idea that there might be a change that a more original Batman might come up after the aftermath of the Joker War. This original batman might not have the resources that the older Batman once had. So, he will make use of the money he earns in a much positive and therefore different way. He would despite spending all his money on tech, tools, and weapons would incest most or all his money in the development of infrastructure of the Gotham City. Not only infrastructure but other positive and fulfilling works for the city. However. It will take time until this new batman arrives. As its quite a lot of time for Joker War to end for the better.
