Can Superman’s Kryptonite Suit Take Bullets Too?

In his long journey of saving the world, Superman has worn a variety of suits, but how these suits can take bullets? Is Superman’s Kryptonite Suit is also bulletproof?

In the middle of the encounter with baddies of the week, fans of Superman can take a breath of relief as the son of krypton is going to come out on the top. We have seen Superman moving faster than a bullet and wiping off it easily from his chest, but is Superman’s kryptonite suit is also that much strong?

In this long journey of saving the world, Superman has worn a variety of suits from the classic, strongman influenced undies-over-tights, to the blue suit with the belt, and even the occasional black suit, when it is needed. In this time writer and artist has worked hard to design these new suits, they have brainstormed to add new designs and new strengths to it.

How Superman’s Kryptonite Suit Is So Strong?

In the early run of Superman comics, Ma and Pa Kent started worrying about their newly adopted alien son. The first problem they faced is about the clothes of their Alien-Son. SoMa sewed some clothes with what she found near her, The Kryptonian cloth, imbued with the same solar radiation that gives Superman his powers, made the clothing equally indestructible and strong. Now, the Kents had a bulletproof romper for their equally bulletproof baby.

New 52 has some more tech ideas to add in Superman’s Kryptonite suit. The red undies and Belt are replaced by the armor and stiff collar. This new suit made Superman look more like Tony Stark. This Battle-ready suit is not just for giving protection to Superman but it also supplies him some special powers. But the armor was not able to take so much harm and soon Superman was back in his old class suit.

While the consensus seems to be that Superman’s suits are as bulletproof as the Man of Steel himself, they don’t always seem to hold up to the wear and tear of crime-fighting. Superman wore a clean and new suit in the middle of the battle but it ended giving some glimpses of Superman’s grizzled chest. Regardless no suit can take the place of Superman’s Kryptonite Suit that Ma gave him.
