If you are a fan of The Vampire Diaries, you must know who Caroline Forbes is. And why she deserves to be in the lead role.
Talking about The Vampire Diaries, the very first thing that comes to our mind is Salvatore Brothers and their complicated love angle with human Elena Gilbert. The show revolves around the trio. However, there are a lot of characters who are far better than the lead one. No, I am not talking about the male characters. Let’s shift our focus to the female characters of The Vampire Diaries who deserve more attention as compared to the female lead. The Vampire Diaries has always been everyone’s favourite after its release. And there’s no denying we still can’t get over the show.
The show has it all, the gorgeous star cast, a fantastic storyline, amazing dialogues, and the mysterious endings are admirable. If you will watch the series you will find yourself on a roller coaster ride. (Trust me! I am not lying). The show ran for eight seasons and gave us two successful spin-offs The Originals and Legacies. Every character on the show whether it’s supernatural or not had been crafted realistically. But there’s one character who received an immense of love from the fans and deserved to be in the center. And that is Caroline Forbes played by Candice King.
Caroline Forbes As Vampire
Caroline Forbes‘s character was initially introduced as a self-centered woman and an insecure friend. The queen bee of Mystic Falls and daughter of the Sheriff is Elena Gilbert’s best friend and rival when we first meet her. A little dominating and shallow, Caroline Forbes went through a lot of transformation as the show developed. From being a human blood bag for Damon to a Vampire to a mother of another child, Caroline has done it all. The moment she turned into a Vampire, her character evolved into a warm figure willing to make sacrifices for others. The drastic change in her character made her a beloved character in the show.
Elena Gilbert As Vampire
On the other hand, Elena Gilbert’s transition as a vampire wasn’t loved by the fans. As a vampire, Elena turned into a self-centered person. She’s oblivious to Bonnie’s death and Stefan’s disappearance in season 5. That’s not it! We do have a lot of reasons for not adoring Elena as a vampire. When Stefan stands by Elena after she becomes a vampire, but the doppelganger’s sire bond to his brother Damon drives the lovers apart. Her transformation destroyed Stelena.
We all know Elena’s personality as a human. Her caring nature was even appreciated by Elijah (The Original Vampire). However, her empathy disappears when she becomes a vampire. The worst part comes when the newly turned vampire switches off her humanity and becomes a ruthless girl. The ruthless vampire terrorizes the mystic falls town and attempts to kill her friends Bonnie and Caroline.
Both Caroline and Elena have an amazing personality which is adored by the audiences. But as a viewer, I feel Caroline’s character has seen a lot of troubles instead of Elena’s character.
