Clark Gregg, The Marvel show – Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D is running towards the finale. The show has got a good run having 7 Seasons. The show has stories of time travel, aliens, and battles of HYDRA. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D is picked up originally from Agent Phil Coulson’s “Death” in The Avengers (2012). It has included many MCU connections since then.
A number of MCU actors are moving their ways from Films to Disney+ shows. Clark Gregg is the first to make the transition with the help of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. though the series has moved away from the MCU connection that it has held. While speaking to CinemaBlend and others, Gregg has talked about his experience during the show. Also, he has explained the connection of S.H.I.E.L.D with MCU.
He said, “There was a lot of kind of treading water and kind of circling in the airport in Season 1 waiting to be able to reveal what we were doing and how it was crossing over. I did think that the way it crossed over with Winter Soldier and the use of the amazing Bill Paxton really paid off at the end of Season 1 was pretty spectacular. And holds up really well.”
Tribute to Paxton by his Son
Bill Paxton will be playing John Garrett, one of agents of the S.H.I.E.L.D in Marvel. He was disclosed as the one working with HYDRA. Garrett is recruited as Grant Ward. Unfortunately, Paxton died in 2017 and his son James Paxton joined the show as a tribute to him.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D has moved away from MCU. It has its benefits. Samuel L. Jackson has not reprised the role of Nick Fury after the first season. Clark Gregg discussed this as well.
He said, “But that said, I don’t always feel like other seasons, you know, it was as easy to try to find a way to interact with the features. That serves to publicize the features and certainly helps publicize the show. But I liked it when the focus really was just like, ‘Look, what’s the best way to tell stories with these characters, using whatever pieces of the Marvel universe aren’t already spoken for. ‘ And I felt like that really freed up our writers to take chances, and take chances they did, every season starting dividing up into shorter pods before that was even a thing. Who knew that they would invent pods and that we would all be in one?”
It has “freed up” the writers. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D holds a two-hour series finale. It will be broadcasted on ABC on Wednesday, August 12 at 9:00 p.m. ET.
