Marvel’s “Cure” for the hulk can even give you the Hulking experience.
Imagine being a furious gigantic monster, ready to rampage in the blink of an eye. As fun as it sounds, the one who actually hosts the beast begs to differ. Having near-infinite strength sounds awesome until your power becomes the reason for people getting hurt or worse, Killed. Bruce Banner has always been troubled by his other half, seeing him as some sort of disease to cure. While the Hulk can do a lot of good in his own weird manner, the destruction that he caused in his initial transformations forced Dr. Banner to fear the big Green.
Hulk’s volatile nature and the aftermath of his actions is something that repeatedly makes Bruce feel regret for being unable to keep him restrained. He made several attempts to get rid of the Hulk and every single one of them failed spectacularly until Bruce finally learned to embrace him.
The Cure
Although Bruce hates his other side, one would never know how it feels until they experience it. Let’s say you were Dr. Banner, how would you plan your approach to cure the hulk. Gamma Detox? Shutting down emotional stimulus of the brain? Joining a laughter club? Well, anything you can think of is not as much ridiculous as the cure we are about to reveal. Bruce’s most ridiculous attempt at a cure is something anyone can experience in real life. One of his attempts involved Building a rollercoaster(in a way).
Marvel Super Hero Island at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure was once home to an amazing rollercoaster, “The Incredible Hulk Coaster”, which was initially meant to be a cure. The people who visited the island before 2016, would remember the original purpose of the ride, Providing the Hulking experience to the rider, almost as if they were living in the comics. The experience started when the visitors joined the queue to enter the ride. The setup resembled Dr. Banner’s Gamma Lab, containing his different experiments and of course a gamma core. The riders would then find out that Bruce’s plan for a cure was to enter a gamma-ray accelerator, subjecting his brain to intensified G- force.
The so-called idea was to suppress Hulk’s consciousness into Bruce’s mind through this intense pressure, and as much of a genius Bruce Banner is believed to be in the Marvel universe, this was a pretty dumb move. Just like any other one of Bruce’s trials, this was also ultimately destined to fail, setting the Hulk loose, only this time the riders would be the ones experiencing Hulkification. The headsets on seats of the coaster would play the voice of Dr. Banner making it seem like he was the one entering the accelerator, followed by beeping sounds of warning messages representing system failures. Bruce’s voice was replaced by that of the hulk and this would mark the launch of the ride.
The intense emotion of the coaster combined with water blasters almost made it seem like they were actually turning into the hulk and rampaging forward. Unfortunately, this marvelous experience was time-bound and was replaced when the ride got a story update. All in all, trying to suppress an angry monster by putting pressure on him is not really the best course of action, even a dumb person can understand that let alone the genius Bruce Banner, but the ride was one heck of an experience and truly a wonder.
