Danny Pudi has revealed that his Captain America The Winter Soldier cameo was cut short, unexpectedly.
Danny Pudi is known for playing Abed Nadir in NBC’s Community. He made a cameo in Winter Soldier. However, the appearance of Pudi is extremely brief. He had played a SHIELD technician who had a run-in with Captain America.
Captain America The Winter Soldier was premiered in 2014 as a ninth film in MCU. The film moves around Steve Rogers and his relationship with Bucky Barnes. Once he discovered Bucky as alive and got to know what actually has happened to him, he makes this his mission to save his old friends. This had helped him regain his former personality.
Russo Brothers Called him For Captain America The Winter Soldier
Collider announces that Pudi’s cameo was initially presumed to comprise being punched in the jaw by Captain America. Pudi discloses that he had little to no time to coordinate for his appearance; instead, the Russo brothers passed him “a sheet of paper, on set, with a couple of lines”. And the whole cameo was shot in an individual take. Pudi also brings out how excited he was about the scene, saying that the whole occasion was “amazing,” even if the popular punch didn’t make it into the movie’s final cut.
Pudi landed the role in Captain America The Winter Soldier maybe because of his close connection with the Russo Brothers. Pudi said he received a message from Jo Russo asking him, “sometime in the afternoon” on July 4th. Pudi showed up on set with “no sides [and] no script” and understood on the spot that he would do a scene in/with Captain America. Although it’s clearly an unconventional path to secure a role in a major blockbuster film.
However, Pudi is not in a starring role in Captain America The Winter Soldier, but his cameo left the viewers entertained even without the punch.
