Daredevil’s character Maya Lopez aka Echo is going to make its MCU debut with Hawkeye starring Jeremy Renner in the suit of Clint Barton.
Marvel’s Hawkeye show is going to introduce Maya Lopes aka Echo a character having links with Daredevil, to the MCU. After 10 years of making his debut, Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton is finally able to get the spotlight in a Marvel Project. Hawkeye will explore different phrases of Clint Barton’s life his backstory time as Ronin in Avengers: Endgame, and the current focus on training Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) all set for the series.
MCU can explore long-form episodic storytelling, all credit goes to Disney+. With opportunity, MCU is going to shed light on its existing Superheroes and will introduce new members to the audience. Recently many announcements were made about the Hawkeyes’s cast, it was confirmed that Florence Pugh will reprise her role of Yelena Belova, with this Swordsman and Clown, were revealed too. Swordsman will be played by Tony Dalton and Fra Fee will play Clown. Also, Vera Farmiga has been cast as Kate Bishop’s mother, Eleanor, and Zahn McClarnon will portray Echo’s father, William.
How Echo Is Connected With Hawkeye?
As per a report by Variety that revealed the cast of Hawkeye, newcomer Alaqua Cax is going to join the cast as Maya Lopez aka Echo. Hawkeye has some strong connections with the deaf native American characters. But Maya has a stronger connection with Daredevil too. Echo made its comic debut with Daredevil #9 in 1999 and was raised by Daredevil’s arch-nemesis Kingpin after he murdered her father. Wilson Fisk went on to train Echo to become a lethal assassin and sent her after Daredevil for a time.
The inclusion of Echo in Hawkeye was in the air for a long time, but the question is how they are going to fit her in the show after her role is confirmed. Echo hasn’t appeared in live-action before, as Ben Affleck’s Daredevil movie didn’t include her and she was left out of Netflix’s show during its three-season run. This is likely how the MCU was able to already have plans to use Echo, as Daredevil’s rights officially reverted to Marvel Studios recently after the reported two-year moratorium of the show’s cancellation passed.
It will be interesting to see how Marvel is going to handle Echo’s debut with Hawkeye’s show. Echo can be that one bridge that can take Marvel’s story to Daredevil and Kingpin. An echo should have some role in MCU beyond the series to introduce Marvel’s connection with Daredevil.
