Dark Knight: Death Metal has been the follower of DC heroes including Batman. They deal with a crisis brought by Batman and his evil army of Batman. This army of Batmen emerged from a different Dark Universe and Justice League. This army has been beaten. Now different variations are seen from the Dark Universe such as the Batmansaurus Rex. The Legends of the Dark Knight see a new transformation of Batman in Death Metal. It is integral to the House of X and the X Men’s rise in power.

The short story “I Shall Become” witnesses the second life of Bruce Wayne. He posts his mind into cyberspace and understands his own engineered body. With the second chance of life he has got, he is all set to avenge himself. Unfortunately, his body remains a baby. The Batbaby falls from the machine, goes down the stairs, and hits the ground.
Batman puts his efforts into understanding the functioning of his body. But nothing is even close to the hopes. He is a baby and can only crawl or gurgle. He has a soft spot in his head and can be easily hit. Batman uses the only likely to work plan. Cry out until someone comes for help like other babies. Definitely not all the characters of the Dark Universe are featured to be great.
Batman’s condition is similar to the mutant of the House of X. Moira MacTaggert was not merely a mutant researcher but also a mutant in reality. Her power is like reincarnation where she lives her life from the beginning with all the memories of her previous births. This helped her in choosing paths to achieve the desired future. This has led to the creation of a mutant state Krakoa.
Both Batbaby and Moira are forced to live their lives again being dependants. The difference is their situation. Batbaby is yelling for help as a baby on the floor. Maybe someone comes to his help! However, Moira is born in the same family safe and secure.
Will the Dark Knight end well?
It is quite unclear whether Batbaby will take any form or not. Considering the Batman who Laughs there seems no future for Batbaby. Still, many questions are yet to be answered. Will Batman be able to rewrite his own life after already living it? Will Batman take a new path and not the dark one?
The story is set in the Dark Universe. It may however not be possible for the Dark Knight to end well.
