Dexter is returning soon. It is now revealed that one of the fan’s favorite serial killers, Dexter, is returning to their screens.
It is a 10-part series that is set to go to production next year. Michael C. Hall will be reprising his role as the titular personality as Dexter is returning.
Dexter Is Returning, But Plot Details Are Scarce
However, the plot details are still under wraps. But in a recent interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Producer of Dexter, Clyde Phillips has hinted that the series might serve as a second shot.
He said, “This isn’t Dexter season nine… this was an opportunity to write a second finale for the show.”
While Showtime’s co-president of Entertainment Gary Levine has said that the show ran from 2006 to 201é, it would never be revisited until some stunning and bright idea does not take it forward. Now it seems as if the bright idea has struck their brains.
Levine said, “We would only revisit this unique character if we could find a creative take that was truly worthy of the brilliant, original series.”
“Well, I am happy to report that Clyde Phillips and Michael C. Hall have found it.”
Nevertheless, Hall has always shown his excitement to return with the show. And now Dexter is returning.
The actor, during an interview in 2019 with Daily Beast, said, “Every time I’m asked about [another season of Dexter]. I say, ‘Never say never.’ The next thing I know there’s an announcement on the internet saying, ‘He’s going to do it again.'”
“The way that shows ended gave no sense of closure for people and a lot of questions unanswered.”
“He seems to be in this self-imposed exile, he certainly didn’t ride off into the sunset. His sister died. It left a gnarly knot in some viewers’ stomachs. I stand by how that eighth season ended.”
He further stated, “If he had kept on killing people he’d have been fine, but he gets married, he opens his imagination and heart.”
“He has a real connection to people, and all those people are compromised or destroyed in some way. For it to be all tidied up after that would have not been honest.”
“For him to simulate his death and extricate himself from the context of his life made sense to me.”
“As far as any more of that happening, it’s possible.”
