IG-11 may have gone but he is still in our hearts, The Mandalorian season 2 episode 4, “The Siege” spots light on Easter Egg that pays tribute to the nurse droid’s death. Ig-11 was another bounty hunter who was made his first appearance in Mandalorian’s first season. Despite having distrust on droid, Din Djarin allied with him to get past the defenses around their target. But as soon they find that their targets were just a newborn and IG-11 made a move to kill poor Baby Yoda, Din shot the droid instead.

Why IG-11 Sacrificed His Life In The Mandalorian Season 2?

Later Din got an awful surprise when he again encountered IG-11, repurposed by Kuuill to help and protect people rather than taking their lives. The new and changed IG-11 saved Baby Yoda from the hands of stormtroopers and later sacrificed his life by activating self-destruction to take down another batch of troops, this move of his doesn’t just save the baby but saved Din, Greef Karga, and Cara Dune.

With the Razor Crest still recovering from a repair job by Mon Calamari, Din comebacks back to Navarro to call in a favor. Because of Cara Dune, the Volcani Planet’s trading post was less lawless and more lively. Din and Grief’s meeting bar was not developed into a school. As Din walks into the school he sees a tribute to IG-11 in the face of his statue in a heroic pose.

IG-11 was the only person who has seen the real look of Din Djarin without the helmet that he wore when he was just a child. In the season 1 finale when Mandalorian got a head injury IG-11 was the one who told him that seeing him without a helmet is not violating any Mandalorian code. Din made an allowance for this loophole, and IG-11 used bacta spray to heal his injury and save his life. “The Siege” offers another glimpse of Din’s face (actually just his chin) when he lifts his helmet slightly to drink some soup. This is what happened in The Mandalorian Season 2.
