Netflix recently announced the second installment of Emily In Paris season 2 on Instagram with a video of the cast celebrating. There was also a formal letter written by Sylvie letting Emily’s boss in Chicago know about the news. Netflix released the first season of Emily In Paris in October 2020. That was the time when all of us including – from French critics to fans – shared our thoughts about Darren star’s latest work.
The show is actually pronounced “Ah-melie in Par-ee” — a good thing to know before watching season 2! (An important notice by Netflix). Emily in Paris is supposed to be pronounced with a French accent so ‘Emily’ and ‘Paris’ rhyme,” the tweet read. We all must be practicing right.
The letter reads –We are writing to regrettably inform you that Emily Cooper will need to remain in Paris for an extended period of time,”. This is the formal letter written by Sylvie letting Emily’s boss in Chicago know about the news.
When will filming for Emily in Paris season 2 begin?
Production could be delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. Darren Star tweets-“If we get picked up, I hope we’ll be back in Paris next spring and things will ease up a little bit,” he told in October. “I think hopefully we’ll be in a better place by next spring. I really hope so.” Darren is crossing his fingers that the cast and crew will be able to safely return to Paris in the near future for Emily In Paris season 2. Lily is also optimistic about returning to the set.
Her tweet reads-“We’re aiming to hopefully be going back soon. Hopefully in springtime. We’re trying to move forward. Again everything is [COVID-19] pending,”
What will Emily in Paris season 2 be about?
Well, they must be having plenty of ideas, but still, the creator admits that he hasn’t thought about where all the different characters will end up. In season 2, Emily is going to be more of a part of the fabric of the world she’s living in. She’ll be more of a resident of the city. She’ll have her feet on the ground a little more. She’s making a life there. And Darren is definitely all set on having Emily come into her own.

Talking about season 2, actor Bravo who played Gabriel hinted at what will happen in Emily In Paris season 2. He spoke to Cosmopolitan, “the first season has planted a few seeds about different characters. This is where it gets interesting. Like Camille when she kissed Emily on the mouth and she’s like, I’m not sorry. And then when they’re in bed and I’m liking the picture, it’s all little seeds. Anything could happen between the three of them. I think Darren wants this second season to be really open-minded”
That’s not it! Darren Star also revealed more about Emily In Paris season 2 “We’ll see more of Emily’s work family, absolutely. Especially Sylvie, who I feel like is so mysterious,” he told Glamour. “I want to understand her more and know more about her, without totally knowing, if that makes sense … Any excuse to see more of Mindy, I am all for.” So, it’s a sure shot that Darren plans on keeping other personalities at the forefront, both at the office and at Parisian restaurants during off-hours. Lily is also open to digging deeper into everyone’s backstories. So, we will be having a rewind too.
