Netflix’s famous romcom Kissing Booth is coming for season three, and we have a confirmed release date now.
The third movie of this franchise was announced by Netflix shortly after the sequel got released in July 2020, the announcement also revealed that the film had already finished filming before the release of Kissing Booth 2, and thus the current pandemic had no negative effect on its schedule. Although we knew the film would release sometime in summer, recently Netflix released a new sizzle reel of its upcoming movies, where Joey King and Joel Courtney cheekily told that Kissing Booth season 3 will be out on August 11.
Courtney said, “I got so excited, I ate 11 churros,” with King adding, “Ate 11, hmm?” which sounds like “8/11” and in US format, that’s August 11. Filming both the sequel and the third installment all at the same time was smart since the fans will not have to wait long for Kissing Booth Season 3.
What will Kissing Booth 3 have in store:
Kissing Booth 2 ended with a cliffhanger however the third movie’s synopsis promises that this season will revolve around Elle’s decision. Elle has to make the decision whether she wants to go to Harvard where her boyfriend Noah is matriculating, or stay back and go to Berkeley, where her best friend Lee is headed to. Which path she chooses and the repercussions that follow will be the focus of Kissing Booth 3.
Will her relationship with Noah survive if stays back or will her friendship end if she leaves her BFF behind? Elle and Lee’s friendship already faced trouble with Elle lying to Lee about applying somewhere else. While talking to ET, Joey king said about the show’s cliffhanger ending, “She’s really good at getting herself into a pickle, that’s for sure…Elle has a lot of figuring out to do, and she figures out a lot during this movie. And then, in the end, she gives herself even more figuring out to do, which is crazy. We don’t know what’s going to happen… I don’t know why she does that.”
Cast and Crew:
While the third movie was announced it was also announced that the main cast will be returning for Kissing Booth Season 3. This means that we shall get to see Joey King as Elle Evans, Jacob Elordi as Noah Flynn and Meganne Young as Rachel back in the role, as well as Maisie Richardson-Sellers as Noah’s Harvard friend Chloe and Molly Ringwald as Noah and Lee’s mother Sara.
Last season’s fan favourite Taylor Perez will also be back as Marco. Perez said that he wants the third film to give him justice. Elordi on the other hand contradicted saying, “I feel like if you get told no, you should take the, no, you know? Take the L man, give up. Like, leave her alone, you know?”
Kissing Booth 3 trailer:
Along with the surprise announcement the live stream also showed the first clip from the third movie. It shows Elle having a good time with Noah, Lee and Rachel when she gets a call from Harvard’s admission office, which she ignores.
Has she not made her mind? Or is she struggling to confront her best friend? Although we do not have a trailer yet, we are pretty sure the trailer will come out soon given the movie itself releases in August. Regardless, We have high hopes from Kissing Booth 3 and cannot wait to see how Noah and Elle’s relationship evolves and what new trouble Elle gets herself into.
