Fanmade Poster For The Batman Headlines The Dark Knight Returns

An extraordinary fanmade poster for The Batman visits back to The Dark Knight Returns comic book’s cover. The forthcoming film is set to reboot the Dark Knight again on the big screen. It will feature Robert Pattinson wearing the cowl and Matt Reeves directing the film.

The production of the film was halted in mid-March due to the pandemic and it has just recently started back. But then unfortunately Robert Pattinson was tested positive for the coronavirus. However, the actor has recovered thankfully and the production that is 25% completed, has started again.

Though, details are still not out about the plot of the film. But on sparing the glimpses at the gallery of rogues, we know that Robert Pattinson’s Batman will be coming against the Catwoman of Zoe Kravitz, Colin Farrell’s Penguin, and Paul Dano’s Riddler, where Riddler appears as the main villain. The initial trailer of the film shows Riddler’s vicious murder of the Gotham City mayor. It also indicated a dark theme with Christopher Nolan’s entry in the Batman film canon.

Nikolai Baslajik, a Melbourne, Australia-based artist and art director, who goes by Kode (@bosslogic on Instagram), developed the electric chunk of the fanmade poster for The Batman. Combining digital art and graphic design, Baslajik repeatedly posts creative and often funny mockups starring everything from Fall Guys outfitted as the Avengers to Norman Reedus’s character from Death Stranding providing an ever-elusive PS5. This specific fanmade poster for The Batman, captioned “Vengeance,” was uploaded in celebration of September 19 as Batman Day.

The image in the fanmade poster for The Batman, stars a silhouetted Batman hopping across the Gotham rooftops on a dark and stormy night, brightened solely by a lightning strike that seems to streak right through his head. It’s outstanding in its own right, devoid of pigment and reminiscent of film noir, but its most interesting facet is the callback to The Dark Knight Returns. The cover of the 1986 comic book shows similar imagery as in the fanmade poster for The Batman, Batman mid-leap, looking steadied to come down on an enemy with a flash of lightning silhouetting his body against a faded blue sky.

The Batman in the fanmade poster for The Batman of Baslajik in lime with the direction of the character in the upcoming movie is less of an action star and more of a mysterious force. The Batman will be reckoning with the hero as a detective. It will feature more civil and smart Dark Knight than formerly glimpsed in the DCEU.
