Hannibal star Mads Mikkelsen responded to a recent report suggesting that he will be taking over Grindelwald’s role in Fantastic Beast 3.
As Johnny Depp is stepping down from the role of Fantastic Beast 3’s Grindelwald reports suggest that now Mads Mikkelsen will be portraying the role. Now Hannibal star has officially confirmed it.
“Oh, that is on the rumor basis as we speak,” Mikkelsen said to IGN. “So I know as much as you do from the newspapers. So I’m waiting for that phone call.” He said.

Mike Mikkelsen has played a variety of roles in these years, including portraying the role of Hannibal Lector in the famous television series Hannibal and supporting roles in many Hollywood blockbuster movies like Doctor Strange and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. He was also seen in Danish productions like The Hunt and Another Round.
Warner Bros. has asked Depp who played Grindelwald in both Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, to step down from the role following the outcome of his defamation lawsuit against The Sun. The film was supposed to see it’s release in November 2021 but now it will release in July 2022.
Directed by David Yates and written by J.K. Rowling and Steve Kloves, Fantastic Beasts 3 stars Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller, and Jude Law. The film arrives in theaters on July 15, 2022.
